Rescue training at Rio-Antirio Bridge
In the first half of December 2024, employees of GEFYRA SA participated in refresher training focused on rescue and evacuation procedures from the piers and pillars of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge (CHARILAOS TRIKOUPIS BRIDGE). This specialised program emphasises the management of critical situations, particularly those involving rescue and evacuation from locations that present complex access challenges, confined spaces, and areas prone to fall hazards.
The training program involves using rescue stretchers, automatic ascent and descent devices, and additional equipment to manage incidents effectively.
The company's rescue plan outlines procedures for responding to incidents across 11 distinct zones of the facilities, each with its own characteristics and requirements. Rescue equipment is available on each bridge pylon.
GEFYRA SA serves as an exemplary model of a company that prioritises and invests significantly in the safety of its personnel.
We collaboratively create a detailed rescue and evacuation plan encompassing all facility locations, both underwater and above the sea's surface.
In addition to regular employee training, the company conducts emergency preparedness drills to assess and enhance its procedures.
